vancouver opera went to the dogs this past sunday with BCSPCA's paw for a cause walk at jericho beach.
the weather was just perfect for a walk: sunny and hot. thousands came out to revel in this puppy heaven and help to raise funds for BCSPCA. all around us were pooches of all sizes: from paris hilton's purse sized chihuahua dogs to digby the biggest dog in the world dogs.
while waiting for the 2.5 km walk to begin, one could be entertained by the agility demonstrations, or partake in the face painting and spray tattoos for both humans and dogs (!) or take a wander in the big marquee tent where there were displays from local animal rescue and welfare groups.
there were people of all ages participating in the walk. lots of families too. some of the VO staff even brought their kidlets and their own pets out for the event.

I heard the laugh!!! YAY! AND- so many cute puppies! I like the black pomeranian I saw!! My friend had one of those named Brutus. His name was severe, but he was SO smart and sweet!-and he'd let us dress him up :)
Animals are definitely the BEST cause! They are just barking, happy hearts on leashes! :) I know I love my Jasmine!! I'm glad there was such a good turn out!! :)
awww i shouldve been there! i see you guys are sporting the VO shirts hehee hopefully theyre not as tight fit as the last batch! i never heard of this Bigby movie before! sooo cute! i luv english sheepdogs!!
@ durian - it was PUPPY HEAVEN. like a petshop window come to life. i was looking at the pups like i was sifting through a clothes rack. yup, that dog i would get. nope, that one doesn't fit, etc. very fun day.
@ penpen - i happily support animal causes. that and children's causes. do you guys have a spca-type walk down in texas?
@ peggy - hunny, you could've come along with us and brought out pebbles, gizmo and rusty. i mean, you did supply us with our fab VO t-shirts!
