tonight was the first day of my media relations class. as this was first class, a good chunk of time is normally spent talking about the curriculum and of course, introducing ourselves to the 29 classmates. but with a twist, this time. the instructor got us to pair up with another student and we were instructed to tell each other our worst pet peeve. (just one?!) the object was your partner was suppose to introduce you to the class, tell everyone what your pet peeve is and then, positively slant it so that it came out in a good light. i did say, this was a media relations class.
so it got me thinking....
what absolutely grinds my gears? well, that depends. variables such as current mood, who i'm with and what time of the month it is, all contribute to whether i feel like voting someone off the island permanently or if i'm just eye-rolling and nose scrunchingly annoyed.
little things that chap my hide include: clutter, people moving a turtle's pace on the sidewalk (i'm such a new yorker), people who sit next to you on public transport when there are a gazillion available seats around you and being touched, bumped, pressed by strangers on said loser cruisers.
also, sick people who cough near you and those people who don't wash their hands after going to the bathroom, which i guess makes me a complete germaphobe. or as it would be said in media relations class, "ling is very respectful of other people and appreciates a clean and healthy environment for all."
oh yes, another. one word: INEFFICIENCY.
but those are things that score with the making faces bit. (and maybe a bit of truck driver language)
not to be confused with pet peeves, i'll add the negative character traits that drive me around the bend to no end. these would have to be: dishonesty, cowardice, ignorance and disrespectfulness.
so not attractive and such a waste of time and energy.
so there you have it. should i ever take you to lake titicaca, high in the andes mountain range of bolivia, and then leave you there, you'll know why.
